My name is Amy Nunn and I teach first grade at Hamel Elementary.  This is my ninteeenth year teaching first grade at Hamel and I love it as if it were my first! Teaching is not only a job for me . . . It's my passion!  I love working with the students each day and watching them grow and develop. Over the years, I have learned that they teach me just as much as I teach them! The kids truly become my family away from home.

I am married to a wonderful man named Rob. We recently celebrated our thirteenth wedding anniversary.  We have a beautiful, smart, sassy eleven year old named Savannah that has changed our lives in a way we could never imagine and are so incredibly thankful for her.  Savannah is in fifth grade this year and loving every minute of it! She loves dancing, books and imaginative play.  We also have two beagle mixes named Molly and Watson!

I graduated from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville in 2002 with a Bachelor's of Science in Elementary Education.  I received my Master's of Education in Curriculum and Instruction in 2012, also from SIUE. I love Dove chocolates, Dewey's Pizza, shopping and time out with my family.  I feel so fortunate to have the opportunity to work daily with my students and to make a difference!
